Cross-country runners, Haley Shea and Ryan Francom have been named the Holland Hurricanes Athletes of the Week for the week ending October 14.

Shea, a second year runner for the Hurricanes, finished as the third individual in this weekends ACAA cross country running meet in Halifax, NS hosted by the MSVU Mystics. Shea is known as a leader for the team, helping throughout the season in various roles.

Shea is enrolled in the Human Services program at Holland College and is from Tignish, PEI.

Francom, in his first year as a Hurricanes student-athlete, finished with a solid fourth place finish at the men’s individual cross-country running meet on Saturday in Halifax, NS.  He led the ‘Canes on their way to a second place team finish in the competition.

Francom is from Montreal, QC and is in the Holland College Commercial Diving Program.

The Holland Hurricanes will host the ACAA Cross-Country Running Championships on October 27 at the Mark Arendz Provincial Ski Park at Brookvale.
